One may be a little sceptical about booking a relaxing massage or body treatment at a spa located inside a shopping centre, but those concerns prove completely unfounded as soon as you arrive at the Esse concept store at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre.
Some beauty spas just tick all the boxes – beautiful décor, friendly and professional staff and top-quality treatments and products. And, although it is situated inside a bustling shopping centre, from the moment you step inside the Esse concept store you are transported into a haven of tranquillity and relaxation.
The dramatically eye-catching floor-to-ceiling botanical-inspired wallpaper is the first thing that grabs your attention as you make your way towards the back of the store where the spa is situated. Discreet sheer curtains are drawn, adding to the sense of privacy, as you sit down to fill in the comprehensive questionnaire in the waiting area before being led into one of the three, comfortable treatment rooms.
As their flagship store, the spa has been designed to offer a selection of treatments that showcase the brand’s range of facial and body products. These include skin care and body treatments and massages. They also offer always-necessary treatments like waxing and threading and lash and brow tinting.
During our visit, we were invited to experience a 30-minute pressure point foot massage and a 1-hour Body Cocoon Treatment, both of which were heavenly. The cocoon treatment includes a complete body exfoliation and body mask wrap and leaves your skin feeling baby soft. It also includes a fantastic head and neck massage. Simply fabulous.
