The mid-year holiday season is upon us and we’ve rounded up some of the best happenings taking place on the North Coast these school holidays to help you keep the kids busy…

Find the fun 
Kids are invited to ‘find the fun’ these school holidays at Ballito Junction from 24 to 28 June. There are over 100 combo prizes (valued at R285 each) up for grabs daily. Each combo prize consists of a ten-lap voucher from Ace Karting, a 2D Nu Metro movie ticket and a one-hour jump at 22 Jump Street. Entry is free. Details: www.ballitojunction.co.za.

Little Sprouts gardening workshops
There will be garden décor holiday fun at the Little Sprouts Club on 15 June and 13 July at 10am. Children will get the opportunity to learn how to garden and grow plants as part of an activity and leave with the work they have done for the club lesson. Each class costs R100 and there are eight spaces per class. Parents with children under the age of four are welcome to join in the fun.

Simon and Siouxsie from Snakes in The City
Ndlondlo Reptile conservation and Education Centre will be hosting a meet-and-greet with Simon and Siouxsie from Snakes in The City on 26 June from 9 am to 12 pm and 6 July from 9 am to 5 pm at Sugar Rush Park. The cost is R100 per adult and R50 per child which includes cell phone pictures and an autographed picture of Simon and Siouxsie.

Unicorn Slime
Unicorn Slime by Skyler will be hosting a Holiday Slime Workshop every day from 14 June to 21 June at their Slime Factory at Sugar Rush Park in Ballito. There will be hours of slime fun for everyone. The cost is R100 a person and every person who books gets their own free slime. Details: 0630344831.

Farm fun
Flag Animal Farm will be hosting a fun daily schedule of kid’s entertainment, including wolf interaction, a milking and reptile show as well as a chance to meet Barney, Paw Patrol, Mickey and Minnie mouse, Elsa, Sofia and Spider-Man. On 22 and 23 June they will be hosting a foam and pirate party and, on 7 July, they will host the team from Snakes in the City who will give a live snake demo with a chance for fans to meet and greet. Single Track Minded holiday club
There will be plenty of outdoor active adventure with fun and games, competitions, fort building, a slippery slide as well as learn-to-ride and cycling skills at the Single Track Minded Holiday Club at Sugar Rush Park on 19, 21, 24, 26 and 28 June as well as 1, 3 and 5 July from 8 to 12pm. Charlotte’s Web
KickstArt’s Charlotte’s Web, the charming and timeless children’s book by E.B White, will be staged at the Elizabeth Sneddon theatre on UKZN campus from 13 June until 7 July. Charlotte’s Web comes to vivid life in Greg King’s enchanting stage adaptation, telling the tale of Wilbur, a prize-winning piglet and his unique friendship with an extraordinary barn spider, named Charlotte. Tickets range from R120 to R180 for adults and children, students and pensioners between R100 and R160. Tickets through Computicket.
