While many parents go out of their way to make their kids’ birthday parties special, some moms just manage to really go the extra mile . . . and, when your mom owns a highly successful event planning company, things definitely get taken up a notch!
When owner and founder of events and marketing company The Creativity Lab, Tash Sutherland, sets out do something, she does it with style, flare and just a little more passion than most people. And this is definitely true when it comes to planning her own children’s birthday parties.
When her daughter Harley’s third birthday started approaching, Tash says it was pretty easy to decide on the theme for her party. “Harley has always insisted that she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up!” In true Tash style, she decided to put a spin on things and went for a Black Swan Ballerina theme.
“Being an events coordinator, I had to pull out all the stops and pull in favours from all the good friends I’ve made in the industry in order to make this as special as possible. It turned out to be a very special day and I think every child was in awe when they walked in! We made sure the attention to detail was impeccable and nothing was left unnoticed. And, most importantly, every child left happy after a full day of fun!”
Where party planning can be stressful for many people, it’s quite the opposite for Tash who says she absolutely loves what she does. “Our team is so passionate and we love letting our creative juices flow! I really believe that everyone needs an event coordinator when planning something really special. This will ensure your day is filled with loads of fun elements and the tiny details (which can easily be forgotten) are taken care of!”
