It’s beach time! The Ballito Pro presented by O’Neill hits Ballito’s main beach yet again!

Gather your mates, lather up the sunscreen and head to the beach as the world’s longest-running surfing contest, The Ballito Pro presented by O’Neill hits Ballito’s main beach yet again!

It’s here and it’s bigger and better than ever. The holiday vibe is palpable in Ballito as the annual surfing competition and beach festival, The Ballito Pro (this year presented by O’Neill) begins.
Surfing fans, holidaymakers and locals looking forward to some beach time and festival fun will not be disappointed by the 2019 event.

The surfing kicks off on 27 June with Rookie Rippers junior events and the main contest (featuring 112 of the world’s top male and 32 top female surfers) runs from 1 to 7 July on Willard Beach. As always, the Ballito Pro festival promises a fantastic entertainment line-up for all ages alongside the surfing action!
“KwaDukuza Municipality is excited to welcome visitors to our region to enjoy the internationally renowned Ballito Pro,” says event co-ordinator, Collette Bundy. “And we are thrilled to have O’Neill on board as the new presenting sponsor for what is going to be the ultimate African festival!”

African Surf Adventure at Coco de Mer: There will be activations, interviews and public interactions with renowned television host, sports’ commentator, athlete, musician, actor and philanthropist (and this year’s Ballito Pro ambassador), Sal Masekela.The Ballito Pro music concerts, presented by 5FM: Free music concerts running for two nights featuring the best South African musicians on Salt Rock beach.

After dark parties: The live music will continue as top SA DJs battle it out at Crush Ballito. Ballito Pro food presented by Ballito Junction Regional Mall: A full feast of cooking competitions, food and drink stalls and tasting, fashion shows, activations and entertainment over two days at The Ballito Junction Regional Mall.

Extreme sports: The adrenaline-fuelled Monster activations will again include unmissable motorbike stunts by the Le Riche Brothers and skate jam demonstrations.
Beach action: There will be daily fun activities including beach soccer, volleyball, fashion shows, competitions and dance displays.

Shop-it-up: Local artists will keep the crowds engaged while shoppers enjoy the retail stalls and a fully-laden food court and cider garden!

Kids’ corner: Kiddies will love the face painting, water balls, sandcastle building, the beach dash and other fun activations!
Surfers, both young and old, will get to mingle with legendary SA surfboard shapers and learn all about the intricate craft of surfboard shaping.

Save the Waves: This year’s plastic and recycling awareness campaign will include the Litter4Tokens recycling programme, an environmental awareness campaign aimed at improving marine health.
