May be a little early…but t’is the season to be celebrating! This Winter, The Oyster Box will bring the Swiss Alps to you. Promising a nostalgic atmosphere of a mountain ski-lodge, venture no further than Umhlanga’s hottest Lighthouse Bar for a Durban-styled Christmas in July! With a spirited cocktail on arrival and the option to purchase a Christmas-themed snack platter from our menu… come join us for a cosy evening with a view! Regret – no children under the age of 18.

MAKE-UP AND MAI TAI’S WORKSHOPS – 25 July
Over the next three months, well-known Durban makeup artist, Charelle McAllister will take you through your makeup strides with THREE Make-up and Mai Tai’s Workshops, in The Shell Room at The Oyster Box. Starting with The Basics, this class will focus on quick skin prep, health and hygiene, foundation and application tips and tricks, correct brow shaping/ shading for your features, blusher tones and a natural basic eye. This promises to be a hands-on make-up experience that will give you confidence in your day to day make-up application.

POSH POOCHES ON THE PROMENADE – 28 July
Skabenga and The Oyster Box invite all humans and their furry friends to strut their stuff at Posh Pooches on The Promenade on 28 July. One of Durban’s most scenic routes, the Umhlanga Promenade will play host to a 3km, 6km or 12km walk or run from The Oyster Box Hotel to the Umdloti main beach and back. Shorter turnaround points will be available for old …or struggling pets (and humans). Glam up, add some sparkle to your leashes – Best Dressed will win a two-night stay at The Oyster Box with other prizes up for grabs. A cup of coffee will set you off with water stations along the way. Please bring your own water, hats, sunglasses and sunblock.
