We all love a good smoothie, but sometimes weighing and measuring your ingredients to ensure you’re meeting all your correct nutritional needs can be a little tiring! NutriBullet’s newest offering, NutriBullet Balance, is a super clever product that has a smart sensor which measures the ingredients as you add them! With its accompanying Bluetooth app (on your phone or tablet) it will even show you the nutritional breakdown of your smoothie. How awesome? The app comes with hundreds of recipes – but you can also just make your own – and it can keep track of what’s in your pantry and create a shopping list of ingredients you need. Wow, right? This nifty gadget sells for R4995.

Bright and beautiful

Collagen is quite the buzz word in the health and beauty world at the moment. But what exactly does it do for you? According to the team at Be Bright (North Coast Be Bright Collagen stockists), collagen is what holds our body together and gives it elasticity. A lack of collagen can result in painful joints, wrinkles, gut health issues, hair loss, dental and nail issues and muscle aches. Be Bright Collagen is pure, hydrolysed collagen powder – it’s easy to use and if used consistently will feed your body with the amino acids it needs to restore and slow down ageing. All you need is a tablespoon a day – and we recommend popping it into your juice or coffee to make it more palatable. Prices: R385 for a 350g jar and R700 for a 700g jar (excluding delivery).

Choosing to live …

The inspiring book, I Choose to Live, is the amazing story of racing champion Gugulethu and his wife Letshego Zulu’s journey up Mount Kilimanjaro. The couple, along with a 42-strong team, took to the mountain as part of the Trek4Mandela initiative in July 2016 and, tragically, Letshego returned to South Africa days later with her husband’s body in a coffin. The book is moving and inspirational and truly shows how a woman’s courage can help her move forward even in the face of immeasurable loss. Details: Exclusive Books, R246.

GIVE-AWAY:
We’ve got a copy of Letshego’s book to give away to one reader.
