A book for Christmas…

We’re well into December. Time, officially, to panic about Christmas gifts. Time, trust me, to rush off to Exclusive Books, where you’ll find the just launched Christmas Gift Guide list and there’s something for absolutely everyone.

We can spend hours – hell … days – in Exclusive Books, just happily dithering and umming and ahhing over which book to buy (and the which to read first!). And this year they’ve not made things easy. The list has some of our all time faves  (hello Lee Child … The Sentinel – the first Jack Reacher book to be co-written with Lee’s brother – is first on the list). There’s loads of international fiction (Contacts by Mark Watson and John Grisham’s A Time for Mercy are both great buys that will make fabulous holiday reading), as well as local books everyone’s talking about (Angelo Agrizzi’s Inside the Belly of the Beast, Rehana Rossouw’s Predator Politics, Johann van Loggerenberg’s Cop Under Cover).

There are business titles, reads for teens and lovely titles for children – Will you be my Friend by Sam McBratney has delightful illustrations and a heartwarming story, little toughies may prefer Revolting Things to Touch and Feel by Roald Dahl – slippery snails, bushy beards, giants feet … such fun!

For foodie friends, look out for Cook, Eat, Repeat – Nigella Lawson’s latest delicious cookbook, a combination of recipes intertwined with narrative essay about food, all written in Nigella’s engaging and insightful prose, and  Oink – The Perfect Pork Cookbook by Billy Forssman (think easy recipes for sizzling bacon breakfasts, epic Sunday lunches, and holiday braais).

You’ll find them all at Exclusive Books … you can shop in store, online or telephonically, and if you’re in an area serviced by Uber, you can have them delivered with your food too. A book and a snack. Bonus!
