04 JUNE:
We can’t wait to try out Gateway’s newest, most exciting fun zone! Your mind is sure to be blown by the World of Illusions – an immersive, interactive experience that will have you and your family snapping pics and scratching your heads! Is it really possible to change your size by walking across a room, be split into an infinite number of reflections, stand on the ceiling, defy gravity, or be taller than your 6ft dad? Maybe it is! Definitely worth a visit this month, this meticulously produced installation of six ‘rooms’ features classic optical illusions which appear to alter reality in ways that simply cannot be true. Entrance is free, kids are welcome and don’t forget to take your phone along to take lots of pics! Situated on the cinema level, the World of Illusions opens on 28 May during trading hours. 14 JUNE:
It may sound like a strange day to celebrate, but when you love a good G&T as much as we do, the humble cucumber needs to be honoured! This year, in honour of world cucumber day (yes, it’s a thing) Hendrick’s Gin have partnered with three venues in South Africa (14 on Chartwell in Umhlanga being one of them) to host three of its grand Cucumber Chillers (grandiose Victorian greenhouse-styled chillers that keep the beloved garnish at the absolute perfect temperature) and they will also have a selection of Hendrik’s Gin cocktails on offer until 14 June.

20 JUNE:
Have you decided how and where you’re going to spend Father’s Day this year? Both The Market and Eat Street at Lifestyle Centre Ballito are excellent options with live music and a wide array of top quality eateries to choose from. Dad will love listening to the tunes of Hale Mary at the Market from 12.30 to 3.30pm at The Market where everyone can choose what they want to eat from a selection of different food options. Alternatively, enjoy a wonderful afternoon of jazz with Quiet Place while enjoying a meal at one of the restaurants situated in Eat Street from 1pm to 4pm. Be sure to book!
