We’re wild about … best dressed dining room tables and cocktails

Monkey guests? If they’re on limited edition table linen, then yes please!

We’ve gone a little monkey mad at Get It this month … with quirky lamps, striking prints and a delicious Monkey Shoulder cocktail. Now we’ve gone a little further … and are dressing out tables with this gorgeous, limited edition table cloth, with cute little monkeys and squawking parrots. It’s one of the ranges from A Table With Friends, who (quite rightly) think the best tables are ones where family and friends linger long after the meal is over. Pop over to @atablewithfriends on Instagram for details. While you browse, try this after-work cocktail (we are, after all, kicking of a long weekend) …

For a Monkey Jam Sour – a little sweet, a little sour, perfect for those who fancy an eclectic mix of flavours, you’ll need 50ml Monkey Shoulder whisky, 20ml fresh lemon juice, 5ml sugar syrup, 2 teaspoons of jam (we use orange marmalade), a dash of orange bitters and (optional) soda water. Simply pop all ingredients except the soda water into a shaker, add fresh ice and shake like a legend, then strain into an ice-filled glass. We drink it like this, on the rocks, but you can top up with soda water if you prefer.
