There was much excitement as runners and walkers headed off into the bush at the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund’s charity fun run at Rain Farm Game Lodge on 19 September. The 5km and 10km event saw runners passing giraffe, wildebeest and zebra en route and tackling some pretty intense hills! The Orphan Fund was started with the purpose of channelling money raised to non-governmental organisations that specialise in caring for orphans and vulnerable children in the area. Sponsors included Fiona Crago Real Estate, Richmond Plumbing & Sanitaryware and Pick ‘n Pay Ballito and over R31 000 was raised on the day.
