Wish List – Ho Ho Ho and merry merry to all

Exclusively produced by Distillery 031 for Lifestyle TOPS in Ballito, and launched in November 2021, D’Urban Lifestyle Gin is inspired by the Dolphin Coast: wide, unspoilt beaches, lush sub tropical vegetation, warm climate and people and the ultimate quality of life.
As pioneers in the craft spirits industry and South Africa’s most internationally awarded independent distillery, Distillery 031 has crafted this hyper-local, limited-edition gin, the first collaboration between an established gin brand and a liquor retailer in South Africa.
D’Urban Lifestyle Gin has lighter juniper notes than the more classic, dry gins and taps into orange and citrus flavour profiles, making it exceptionally drinkable. Unique to D’Urban Lifestyle Gin is the inclusion of both bitter and sweet orange peels. These two botanicals are individually distilled to add a subtle natural orange/citrus flavour to the gin, with no artificial flavours or colourants. D’Urban Lifestyle Gin is exclusively produced for Tops at the Lifestyle Centre Ballito, R379.99.

We are suckers for a beautiful candle or room spray and this one is especially fabulous! Created by one of our favourite top South African designers, Bianca Warren (who is based right here in Umhlanga) as part of her Black House Decor range, these signature ginger, lilly and wild flower soy candles (R420) smell heavenly. They also enhance mental clarity, wellness and relaxation and, once the wax has melted, can be enjoyed as a warm moisturiser or massage oil. The giant, five-wick candle pictured here (R1100) melts perfectly evenly and has a fragrance that lasts for hours. There is also a signature room and linen spray (R320) in the range.

Effortlessly stylish, cool, contemporary. The View was Exhausting is the read of the season. It’s all centred around the love affair of international A-list actress Win Tagore and her jet-setting boyfriend, Leo Milanowski. Their love story is the talk of the town … but it’s as fake as Hollywood. Being a woman of colour – she’s of British Indian descent – Win has to work hard to control her public persona. What better than a millionaire playboy to fake a little good news. With each PDA, the headlines shift back in Win’s favour. What’s in it for Leo? The good press draws attention away from his dysfunctional family. So it’s a win, win really. Until … as great holiday reads demand … the two really fall for each other, secrets are revealed, and all hell breaks loose. Sharp, sexy, fabulous. R410

You are never too old for a Christmas stocking. And these, which you can have embroided with each family members name, are perfect. Neutral cotton, with slate grey embroidery and finished off with a leather loop, they’re incredibly chic, but have also been created to be big and strong enough to hold fairly substantial gifts. R165 each from baskiti.co.za
