Enchanted Easter…

Gold-dusted black croissants, white tulips surrounded by sprinklings of moss and a fairytale picnic garden backdrop. We know you’re going to adore this elegant Easter spread…

SOPHISTICATED BUNNY SOIREE
Nothing says ‘classy’ quite like a monochrome and natural colour palate, carefully pulled together in a stylish setting. Add to that a sprinkling of playfulness and elegance, and you have the ultimate, sophisticated Easter set-up!

Table décor and floral design expert Cindy Rynhoudt of Love Laugh ‘spills the beans’ on how she and her team curated this stylishly enchanted Easter brunch at the beautiful Manor House function venue near Sheffield Beach.

“The beautiful modern marbled table tops and cane chairs with striped black and white cushioning at Manor House were the inspiration behind our somewhat colonial-themed table embellishments. With whispers and winks of green, black and gold elements, the Manor House garden is the perfect opulent outdoor backdrop.

“For the table, we accented the floral décor with beautiful black casuarina berry, natural fynbos and ‘bunny tail’ bunnies made in the Cape. The floral arrangements were made up with a combination of our favourite Easter flowers – white tulips, Phalaenopsis orchids, balloon cotton bush, snap dragons, edible leeks with exposed roots and finished off with a little natural moss (a must for any Easter table!).

“We completed the look with Chartreuse linen napkins, black crockery, gold cutlery and magnificent black concrete pots, featuring the cutest gold squirrel accents! Gold-edged base plates and glasses edged with gold helped us further ‘hop away’ from the usual pastel palette this year!

“With the subtle and classic details sorted, all that’s left to do is hug loved ones, take in the serene moments and share the bubbles before the Easter bunny arrives! If there is no bunny sighting, take solace in knowing that the golden squirrel and chocolate croissants are sure to keep the children believing in the magic of the day!”

BOLD AND DECADENT FLAVOURS
Hands-down one of our very favourite bakeries on the North Coast, Yoli’s is often described as an ‘old-fashioned’ artisan-style bakery. Owner and ‘chief baker’ Nicky Cooper is passionate about creating beautiful, handmade decadent treats with melt-in-your-mouth flavours, using clever baking techniques.

“We believe in slow processes, scratch traditional recipes and using only the best possible ingredients. We are not a factory. The fact that everything is hand-crafted is something we pride ourselves on,” she says.

Nicky created a decadent brunch menu to match the monochrome and gold theme that Cindy envisioned.

As ‘old school’ as they are though, Nicky says every now and then they still love pushing the boundaries a little and doing something different.

“When our lovely Lifestyle Centre ‘neighbour’ Cindy from Love Laugh said she was doing a beautiful twist on a traditional Easter celebration table, we were extremely excited to take on the challenge!”

To go with Cindy’s black, white and gold theme, Nicky decided to create a decadent brunch menu! ”We made gold-dusted, activated charcoal croissants, Lindor ball pain au chocolates with Lindt bunnies, ‘snow-dusted’ almond croissants and Easter-themed white and dark chocolate ring doughnuts.”

The menu also included yummy cheese and herb pastry straws, charcoal and sesame sliders with cream cheese, French tordu and Epi baguettes, seed crusted bagels, decorated white chocolate eggs, and of course Nicky’s famous quiches – spinach, red onion and white cheddar and salmon, dill, roast potato lemon and capers with cream cheese. Everything was, of course, washed down with a glass of bubbles … what else is there to do when you’re brunching al fresco, after all?

Nothing completes a beautiful alfresco brunch quite like a glass (or two) of bubbles!
