Why the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ are game-changing devices

Early this year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S22 and S22+. These two flagship devices are getting attention for all the right reasons. They are designed to build on the camera innovations that made last year’s Galaxy S21 such a hit. Here’s how the camera technology has taken another leap forward as well as the new features Samsung has introduced – including a big focus on processing power, long-lasting battery1 and even sustainability.

Design
The Galaxy S22 Series has a slim symmetrical metal frame and sleek design with glass on both the front and back. It’s tough Gorilla Glass Victus+, in case you’re wondering. To protect you from splashes and spills it has a reassuring 1P68 Rating2. Samsung has also used discarded fishing nets3 and transforms them into high-performance materials in these devices. Both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ are available in Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Pink Gold.

Camera
With cameras being one of the major decisions when choosing a smartphone, you’ll be impressed by the innovative technology designed for day or night. With Galaxy’s largest pixel senor yet, and Adaptive Pixel technology the camera is designed to let in more light, draw out details, and capture colours that make your content pop, even in the dark4. Both Galaxy S22 and S22+ are built with a powerful 50MP main camera, 10MP tele-lens, and 12MP ultra-wide lens. When you’re capturing videos with friends, the new Auto Framing5 feature detects and tracks up to 10 people and automatically adjusts the camera’s focus, so your camera captures everyone clearly. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ also takes perfect Portrait mode photos and includes a host of fun features and professional level editing tools.

Power and Performance
Samsung considered how we use our phones at work, home and for play so the integration of Samsung’s biggest processor yet will be a big plus to take on multiple tasks including streaming and productivity tools with ease. Importantly, Galaxy S22 is built with a massive all-day battery1 and 25W fast charging6 and Galaxy S22+ with 45W super-fast charging so charging up is super quick.

Display
Streaming a movie or your favourite show will look even better on these beautiful displays. Both devices come equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, designed for the best in gaming and watching. Whether you choose Galaxy S22’s premium 6.1-inch display or Galaxy S22+’s 6.6-inch,7 each screen is built with intelligent Vision Booster technology8 that automatically adjusts the display to the lighting around you and enhances the colour contrast, so you can enjoy the best possible view of your content.

Right now can also trade in an eligible older Samsung or non-Samsung device to one of these amazing smartphones. You have until 30 June 2022 to receive a discount of R50009. Should you trade in at Vodacom you have until 6 July 2022 to receive a tariff reduction of up to R300 per month9. This is a great offer!

3Discarded fishing nets are collected through Samsung’s partner that works with local fishermen who collect them from the Indian Ocean and neighbouring coastal areas. Samsung does not directly recover fishing nets from the ocean.
4Adaptive Pixel only works with high resolution photos, not at basic resolution.
5Auto Framing only available in Video mode. Auto Framing must be enabled before recording. Certain resolutions and ratios may not be supported. Certain functions may not be available when Auto Framing is on. Only people can be recognised, and there is a limit to how many people may be recognised. Available on Samsung Camera, BlueJeans, Google Duo, Meta Messenger, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex Meet, and Zoom. Auto-framing available on select lenses
6Wall charger sold separately; use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables. To avoid injury or damage to your device, do not use incompatible, worn or damaged batteries, chargers or cables.
7Display measurements are diagonal; the actual viewable area is smaller due to rounded corners and camera hole.
8The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Vision Booster on Galaxy S22 and S22+ received a certification from VDE Germany for 100 percent Mobile Colour Volume in the DCI-P3 colour range, which means your images aren’t washed out and you’ll get unbelievably vivid colours regardless of differing levels of brightness. The display can achieve peak brightness of up to 1750 nits on Galaxy S22+ and 1300 nits on Galaxy S22 improving the contrast between dark and light aspects of digital content for a more brilliant picture quality, with a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio on Galaxy S22+ and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio on Galaxy S22 to make your mobile experience more immersive.
9Terms and conditions apply. The value of the trade-in is based on the condition of the phone traded in and on qualifying phone
