Beautiful, twinkling lights and unique backdrops have transformed Gateway Theatre of Shopping into a wonderland of magic and delight.<\/strong><\/p>\n Eight charming scenes, which have been carefully positioned throughout the super-regional mall, allow shoppers to stop, admire and \u2018snap a selfie\u2019 while truly embracing the festive spirit and holiday fun. \u201cVisitors are invited to use what we\u2019ve created as backdrops to capture holiday fun together,\u201d says Gateway Theatre of Shopping Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley.<\/p>\n Santa has taken over the Expo Explore area with a village full of interactive scenes to enjoy. By far one of the most exciting elements is the Virtual Reality sleigh ride experience (R20 per person), which sees Santa\u2019s sleigh making virtual flips to deliver presents (open from 3 – 23 December).<\/p>\n The mind-bending World of Illusions (also dressed up in festive finery) is another must-visit for shoppers! The unbelievable scenarios a hugely popular and provide the perfect opportunity to snap some holiday-themed wonder!<\/p>\n Decorated with plush Disney character toys, the impossibly tall giant Disney tree is back on the glass floor at Food Republic. (As a Disney, Gateway, Nedbank and SMILE Foundation initiative, the plushes are generously donated to children.)<\/p>\n Giving back to the community, Reach-for-a-Dream will offer a gift-wrapping station in the mall and Gateway will be introducing their extended trading hours from 15 December – 9am to 10pm (9pm from 24 December to 7 January). \nDressed up as the \u2018garden of light\u2019 with twinkling fairy lights and a suspended swing, the Palm Court promises to be extra-special this season and the ideal spot to relax over a meal and enjoy our beautiful summer weather. \u201cIn addition to the Lighthouse & Ocean Play area, we will be hosting live music in the evenings from 16 December.\u201d<\/p>\n
