Whether you love their sticky ribs and burgers or are a die-hard buffalo wings fan – a visit to Spur is always a warm, fun experience for kids and adults alike. The Get It moms took their kiddies to the newly renovated Spur at King Shaka International Airport recently.<\/p>\n
Some things are so intrinsically South African, you can\u2019t help but feel nostalgic and comforted while enjoying them. Rusks dipped into your morning coffee, the smell of boerewors on a braai . . . and, of course, a family trip to your local Spur!<\/p>\n
The recent revamp of the Soaring Falcon Spur at the King Shaka Airport is the first in the region and has seen the popular restaurant transformed into one of the most contemporary, upmarket branches in KZN.<\/p>\nT-Bone steak, buffalo wings, crispy onion rings and chips – delicious!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Although it still boasts all the traditional menu favourites, the newly renovated King Shaka Airport Spur has definitely \u2018upped the ante\u2019 in terms of its more modern look and feel. We were super impressed with the changes to the interior, which includes new furniture and a cleverly-redesigned table configuration, allowing for ease of movement between tables and quick access to the kiddies play area!<\/p>\n
Speaking of which, this particular Spur\u2019s play area or \u2018play canyon\u2019 is by far one of the best we\u2019ve been to. The soft play zone and fun adventure obstacle course kept our kids (from nine months to eight years old) entertained for ages – and the attentive, caring child minders allowed us moms to relax and enjoy our lunch in peace as well!<\/p>\nSpur\u2019s play zone has a fun, adventure obstacle course which kept the kids entertained for ages.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The new-look Spur includes practical, contemporary features like USB charging ports for laptops and phones and a bottomless soda station, bringing the eatery in line with similar international restaurant chains.<\/p>\n
Most important to most diners at any restaurant though, is the quality of the food and the level of service. Both of these were completely on point during our visit. \nIf you\u2019re catching a flight, collecting someone from the airport or, for no other reason at all than to enjoy a good meal in a great setting, pop into the new Spur for a fun, family dining experience. Open from 5am to 10pm daily.<\/p>\n
