It\u2019s officially been five years since Ballito\u2019s flagship Ocean Basket first opened its doors in the once derelict Big Blue Building in the Ballito Village. We\u2019re raising a glass this month to toast this local, family-owned success story.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You\u2019d be excused for thinking you\u2019d walked into some dreamy Mediterranean bolt hole on your first visit to Ocean Basket Ballito, overlooking Salmon Bay. With over 300 Ocean Basket stores worldwide, including idyllic Cyprus and Malta, it\u2019s truly saying something to rate Ballito\u2019s very own Ocean Basket restaurant as one of the most picturesque in the world.<\/p>\n

The double-storey restaurant on Compensation Beach Road, owned and operated from the start by local couple Jason and Mel Powell, has been a seafood haven for local regulars and holidaymakers. You\u2019re always guaranteed a warm welcome, world class ocean views, and delicious Mediterranean style seafood and sushi. Not to mention you can still bring the whole family for a hearty meal without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n

The menu is a hit with pensioners too, who find every day value in each seasonal offering. This summer, the group has delivered something special with a new-look menu, and fresh Mediterranean flavours. Choose from edamame fritters and vibrant bowls of sushi rice or quinoa with tasty toppings, or fish on the bone (like the herby lemon sole) and new signature sushi (try the almond and prawn rolls!).
