She took the time to explain how the practice works to unlock the core muscles, and guided us patiently through our mat class. She demonstrated each movement, encouraged us to focus carefully on our breath, and to move with intention. We also had the chance to try the reformers in the fully-equipped studio \u2013 using BASI Systems finely crafted Pilates equipment, these machines are designed to isolate muscles for a low-impact, but highly effective workout. With her wicked sense of humour, positive energy and an excellent playlist, she had us moving (and giggling) for a full hour of exercise. The Sculpt and HIIT class combines some of the basics of yoga with strength training, mat work and a bit of cardio for a full-body workout. Our lovely instructor Lisa G guided us through our session, which had us sweating (and smiling) as we bounced. The workout certainly got our heartrates up, worked the leg muscles and core, but was gentle on the joints.
