Beach season is upon us and we\u2019re ready for it! Camelot Spa in Umhlanga invited us to try some treatments that are designed to exfoliate and hydrate the skin in time for summer.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Camelot Spa<\/strong>, located in Pearls Mall in Umhlanga, is set just up from the beach, so when we were welcomed to the relaxation room, we were greeted with a gorgeous view and a fresh sea breeze. After a cup of detox tea and a little time to unwind, our therapist Nelli showed us to a private room to begin a Salt Glow body scrub, a treatment that is designed to thoroughly exfoliate the skin. By getting rid of dead skin cells that often build up, the skin is able to absorb moisture better and really hold onto hydration. The scrubbing process also helps to unblock pores and leaves the skin feeling smoother and more even. Nelli used a natural salt scrub enriched with coconut oil, which felt (and smelt) amazing.<\/p>\n

After the body scrub, it was time for a hydrating wrap. First, Nelli applied a rich formula of sweet almond and fruit oils before wrapping us up in a plastic sheet and warm blanket and leaving us to relax for 20 minutes. This wrapping process, along with the heat of the blanket, cause sweating throughout the relaxation period, drawing toxins from the body. Thanks to the mineral-rich, moisturising wrap, the skin is left feeling revitalised and deeply nourished. After 20 minutes, the wrapping materials are removed and rinsed. After a shower, the effect of the treatment was clear \u2013 noticeably smoother, softer skin. To complete the experience, we were treated to a Swedish massage, which certainly got rid of any remaining stress.<\/p>\n

According to the team at Camelot, the body scrubs and hydrating wraps are proving very popular, especially in the summer months, and it\u2019s easy to see why. The spa also offers a range of other body treatments, including massage therapy and hydrotherapy.
