When we arrived, in late spring last year, the mountains were capped with snow and the air was crisp. The stand-out feature, however, is a heated infinity pool known aptly as \u2018The View\u2019. The pool and caf\u00e9 area are perfectly positioned at the edge of the resort and look over the striking Champagne Castle range, which was covered, at the time, in soft cloud.<\/p>\n<p>After dinner and a restful night\u2019s sleep, we woke to see the mist had lifted and the sun was up over the mountains. After a leisurely cooked breakfast at The Bell &amp; Whistle restaurant, it was off to Body Bliss, the on-site spa for a thoroughly relaxing treatment. We were treated to a massage, but it\u2019s possible to choose from a wide range of other treatments, including hydrotherapy, body polish and facials. Feeling rejuvenated, we took a stroll to Cayley Beach Club, located at Bell Park Dam and proudly dubbed the only Beach in the Berg. Our knowledgeable guide shared information about the area and its wildlife, which includes mountain reedbuck, oribi, jackal and baboons, as well as an impressive range of birds. And then, for some extra-fun, we were given the chance to go quad-biking up the side of the mountain. The menu boasts a wide range of options such as locally caught trout stuffed with vegetables and coated in garlic butter; tasty pasta dishes; fresh salads; and indulgent desserts.<\/p>\n<p>Besides its stunning setting, the thing that really sets Cayley Mountain Resort apart is its modern comforts and luxury feel. Each space has been carefully thought through and designed for leisure.
