With a love for adventure and a strong connection to his Scottish roots, Ballito author Steven Smith has brought a new children\u2019s series to life through

Adventure, mystery and a touch of humour come together in this children\u2019s series, taking readers on journeys that stretch the imagination and spark curiosity.
\nSteven\u2019s writing journey began close to home. \u201cMy son said that I have a depth of knowledge and a good sense of humour, so why don\u2019t I write a book,\u201d he explains. That simple suggestion planted the seed and before long Steven found himself bringing characters and stories to life on the page.

\nThe result was The Adventures of the Inverlochy Gang, a series inspired by Steven\u2019s Scottish roots and lifelong love of adventure stories. Set in a small village in Scotland, the books follow a group of young people who stumble into mysteries that are exciting, relatable and just a little bit magical.
\nFor readers discovering the Inverlochy Gang for the first time, Steven describes the characters as familiar and easy to connect with.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are typical young people from a small village in Scotland,\u201d he says. \u201cMost children can relate to the stories, wherever they live, because of the mystery and adventure. Throw in a bit of time travel and you become one of the gang!\u201d It is this sense of inclusion that makes the books so engaging for readers aged eight to sixteen.
\nAt the heart of the series is a clear purpose. Steven hopes children see themselves in the stories and feel inspired by them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are simple stories that most kids can see themselves involved in. There is fun, a bit of history, and good family values.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"Although the stories are rooted in Scotland, Steven\u2019s creativity is now fuelled by life on the North Coast. \u201cThe North Coast, and especially Ballito, is a very relaxed place to live. Writing here has been so rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n
