Tucked into the ever-expanding Zimbali Lakes, The Big Easy Wine Bar and Grill has opened its doors \u2013 and it already feels like a space people will return to often. Not just for a meal, but for the atmosphere that comes with it.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

We arrived just as the light was starting to soften over the golf course, and it\u2019s hard not to be taken in by the view. The restaurant leans into its surroundings, with large openings that frame the greens and bring in that easy, open-air feel the North Coast does so well. Inside, it\u2019s polished but not overdone. Think natural textures, warm finishes and enough space between tables to feel comfortable rather than crowded.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Starting strong<\/strong>
\nFor starters, the line fish ceviche was bright and fresh, with just the right amount of citrus cutting through, while the beef carpaccio felt a little more indulgent \u2013 delicate slices finished with truffle oil and little bursts of flavour from truffle oil and pickled onion.<\/p>\n

The bone marrow was a standout if you\u2019re in the mood for something deeper and more comforting \u2013 rich, but balanced with fresh parsley, red onion and lemon salad.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Mains that deliver<\/strong>
\nFor mains, we tried the sesame-crusted salmon and the aged ribeye \u2013 two very different directions, both worth it. The salmon was light and clean, with a subtle citrus note that didn\u2019t overpower, while the ribeye was exactly what you\u2019d hope for: well-cooked, full of flavour, and paired with simple sides that let the meat speak for itself.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a thoughtful mix on the menu \u2013 mushroom linguine for something comforting and vegetarian, dorado cutlets served with a citrus chimichurri and porcini mushroom broth for a local seafood option, and the classic fillet if you\u2019re sticking to what you know.<\/p>\n

A sweet finish<\/strong>
\nWe kept it simple with dessert \u2013 a classic cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e and the peppermint chocolate delight. Both delivered, without trying to be overly complicated. A neat, satisfying end to the meal.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>The overall feel<\/strong>
\nWhat stands out about The Big Easy is that it doesn\u2019t feel like it\u2019s trying too hard. It\u2019s a beautifully considered space, where good food, a thoughtful wine offering and a setting that gently steals the spotlight come together effortlessly.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s still early days, but it already has that rare, easy allure \u2013 the kind of place you\u2019ll recommend when you want something reliably good, with just the right touch of occasion.<\/p>\n
