From a young boy collecting bottles for pocket money to a family business spanning generations, Moosa Paruk\u2019s story is one of family, faith and an instinct for business.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Long before Coventry became a family name, Moosa Paruk was a 10-year-old boy with an entrepreneurial streak.
\nBorn in 1934, Moosa and his brother Hashim would collect empty glass bottles and cartons and sell them, earning the tidy sum of one shilling and five pence. It was an early lesson in business, resourcefulness and the value of a hard-earned rand, even if the currency was still pounds and shillings.<\/p>\n

In 1952, Moosa joined his brothers at Reunion Clothing, where he gained valuable experience in the clothing industry. More than two decades later, in 1975, he took the leap into his own venture, founding Coventry Clothing Manufacturers in Chatsworth.<\/p>\n

Moosa and his three sons soon became part of the story together, turning Coventry into a true family business. As the company grew, so did its footprint, moving from Chatsworth to Clairwood, Pinetown and Westville before settling at its current Mayville premises around 2006.
\nWorking alongside his three sons, Moosa continued to grow and diversify the family\u2019s business interests. What began with clothing developed into a multifaceted business with investments in companies and properties both locally and internationally.<\/p>\n

The next chapter<\/strong>
\nMore than five decades after Coventry Clothing Manufacturers was established, Moosa, his sons and now his grandchildren are taking the business into Coventry Stationery, and it is less of a leap than it sounds. Moosa\u2019s father gave him one rule for doing business, and Moosa has repeated it for seventy years: \u201cpelle lak pachi de\u201d, in Gujrati means \u201cfirst write it down, and then do the transaction.\u201d Passed down through the family ever since, that instruction is the reason Coventry now makes the things you write it down with.<\/p>\n

As a manufacturer and importer of stationery products, the business is focused on supplying the South African market with a growing range of quality, well-priced products for the retail, educational, office and commercial sectors.
\nWhile the products may be different, the principles remain familiar: quality, value, reliability and relationships. Coventry Stationery aims to build its place in the market through competitive pricing, dependable service and products customers can trust.
\nFor the Paruk family, it is a natural progression of a story that began with a young boy spotting an opportunity in a pile of discarded bottles and cartons.<\/p>\n

Moosa\u2019s legacy is not simply measured by the businesses he built, but by the values behind them: faith, family, integrity and hard work.
\nCoventry Stationery is the latest chapter, carrying those foundations forward while building something for the generations still to come.<\/p>\n
