Bianca de Lange, general sales manager at Kia Bloemfontein, believes there is a time for business and a time for family and the one should never overshadow the other. “I am lucky enough to work for a company that supports their employees when it comes to their families and their responsibilities towards them.”
Bianca started in the motor industry in 2006, took up her current position at Kia in 2020 and has been making waves in the industry ever since. There is a sense of satisfaction and sense of accomplishment for Bianca when she sees the many women managers in the motor industry.
She prides herself on having been mentored by a woman and believes this plays an important part in where she is today. “This has contributed to me being a confident woman in the motor industry and taught me to take on this industry by giving it my all.”
Bianca is responsible for leading and guiding the sales team by setting goals apart from her normal day-to-day managing duties. “The part I enjoy most about my job is working with people. I also do most of the marketing for Kia Bloemfontein and manage the stock we have here. Kia has a very exciting, stylish and affordable product range currently, with three brand new models released in the last four months and two upgraded models coming to South Africa in the next few months.”
On the question of what her worst decision ever was, Bianca gives a slight smile and says it definitely has to be the time when she dyed her hair red, which is something she will never do again. “The best decision I have made thus far, is marrying my best friend.”
She encourages people to not let Covid-19 overshadow all the good things in life, to always protect themselves both physically and mentally. “Personally I like to stay out of the spotlight and never want the focus to be on me but rather on my team who give so much of themselves on a daily basis.”
