Enjoy all the taste, with none of the hangover…

Looking for an alcohol-free option this Sober October? Well, we’re making cocktails with Abstinence’s range of non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs. And you can too!

Now you can start sipping smarter, without compromising on taste, as the award-winning Abstinence Spirits allow you to craft low-alcohol, low-kilojoule, low-sugar cocktails that contain the distinctive notes of the botanicals of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Perfect for any occasion.

The best part about limiting your alcohol intake? The health and wellness benefits: think mental clarity, better quality sleep, improved immunity and more balanced health.

THE ABSTINENCE RANGE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Cape Citrus has buchu and Western Cape citrus.
  • Cape Spice opts for a medley of spices and honeybush.
  • Blood Orange Aperitif includes African wormwood.
  • Lemon Aperitif features buchu, aloe and African wormwood.
  • Epilogue X features honeybush and impepho.

One of the newest additions to the range is Abstinence Lemon Aperitif. Lemon adds the characteristic citrus zing, as well as the sensation of acidity, making it one of the most versatile botanicals in our range

Also keep an eye out for the Epilogue X, the first non-alcoholic dark spirit on the market in SA. You’ll discover smokey, chocolatey, and spicy tasting notes thanks to the combination of smoked, peated and chocolate malt that is married with the selection of botanicals during the distilling process.

Add some ice and top with soda or mix with ginger ale and a squeeze of lime. If you fancy something sweeter, it works a treat when mixed with Coca-Cola. If you are really trying to impress, it is perfect for a non-alcoholic Old Fashioned. You’ll taste sweet notes of caramel, toasted wood and coffee on the palate with a slight burn in the aftertaste.

Always best served with lots of ice, premium tonic water (we suggest Fever-Tree) and your choice of botanical garnish. Cheers!

Make this Abstinence signature ‘bees knees’ for Friday after-work drinks:

You’ll need: 50ml Abstinence Cape Citrus; 25ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed); 15ml honey syrup (three honey to one water); lemon twist as garnish

How to: Add the Abstinence Cape Citrus, lemon juice, honey syrup and ice into a shaker and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
