“One of the defining moments in my career was opening my full-time practice on 01/11/2020. Before that date, my business was a part-time hobby and it was an honour when the opportunity presented itself to make this my full-time job,” says Joanita Coetzee CEO and sole owner of Futura Financial Services.
Joanita believes in the saying by Confucius that if you do a job you love, you will never work a day in your life. She also says that one becomes successful by: “Planning, planning, planning. That is the most important part of my day. I also try to start each day with a positive mind-set knowing that with God on my side, I will be able to handle anything the day throws my way.”
She is currently studying towards her MBA degree and is excited about the new perceptions it provides her on how to conduct business in this ever-changing world. “The only constant we can be sure of is that things will change, and how we adapt and embrace these changes are going to ensure that we will survive.”
However, when she is not studying or working, she can be found spending time with her family and friends or visiting Jeffrey’s Bay to just watch the waves come and go.
Liezel Grobler
“Orderliness, perfectionism and great attention to detail is the mindset that I believe has made me successful over the years.”
This is according to Liezel Grobler, the Practice Manager at Futura Financial Services, who says that one of the defining moments of her career was when she started working with Joanita and having only a handful of clients and the opening of their brand new offices.
Liezel says that Futura Financial Services treat their customers as individuals and not just a number on a system and this is how they distinguish themselves from the competitors. “We know every one of our customers by their first name and even some of their four-legged friends.”
When she is not hard at work she can be found watching a good movie or simply relaxing with a good movie. She also says that being a mother to Jolize and Eduan keeps her busy 24/7.
Her focus is always on remembering who and what is really important to her.
Leonora Smith
“Don’t overthink any situation! I believe that one should give their best every day (God will do the rest) and if I fail, I’ll try again and will not give-up”
These are the words of Leonora Smith, clerk at Futura Financial Services, who also believes in treating clients not just as a number on a system, but rather as an individual that matters.
“We aim to make each client feel as if they are the only client that the firm is assisting. We believe in giving personal attention and, caring and integrity are the most important characteristics of Futura.”
One of the moments that will always stand out to her is being out of her comfort zone and taking that leap of faith to go work overseas on a private Yacht. “The people I met and the whole journey changed my view and perception of life.”
Leonora’s advice is to be positive, take one day at a time, strive to be better than the day before and make a difference.
When she is not in the office she enjoys to go for a run or taking a nice long bubble bath.
