\u201cI\u2019m a local artist and singing is something that will always be a part of me, it is my passion and who I am. I recently got married and this has truly been the best chapter of my life.\u201d<\/h4>\n

Wesna Fourie, singer and owner of Wes.Cabell, a trendy accessories store for ladies, says her music journey started at a very young age. \u201cIt actually started with my mom\u2019s hairbrush in one hand on my parents\u2019 double bed, performing for the cupboards. At that stage, I loved Nadine\u2019s \u2018Meisiekind wil ek graag bly<\/em>\u2019 and her whole album.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her singing career at that stage consisted of small crowds at a show in her hometown, and in the living room for family. \u201cI recorded my first album, \u2018As ek jou vanaand kom haal<\/em>\u2019 when I was 9 years old.\u00a0 Later, as I got more exposure and experience in the field, I started doing competitions and was privileged to start travelling with the best crew, my parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Bloemfontein, she joined the Limitliz Talent Factory where she was exposed to theatre and drama productions. \u201cThe shows and crowds started to get bigger and in October 2021, I released my first single and music video, TUIS. It was definitely a huge highlight in my life. My first music video was recorded with the actor, Arno Greeff. TUIS is available on all digital platforms and the video is on YOUTUBE.\u201d<\/p>\n

She carries on to talk about what saved her during the pandemic \u2013 her business Wes.Cabell. \u201cAt that stage, a performance here and there was the highlight of my day and the reason why I kept on going. In 2020, Covid took that away from me and forced me into another direction. Wes.Cabell started with a fashion trend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her husband supported her all the way and was always willing to give her business advice and help her brainstorm ideas. \u201cI started my business in August 2020. Wes.Cabell is not just \u00a0\u2018nice on the ear and catchy\u2019, it is the creative and meaningful name that JT, my husband, thought of, Wes – Comes from my name Wesna and Cabell comes from our puppy we got at that time – Cabella. For me, Cabell symbolises a new beginning. A new venture and a fresh start.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wesna tells us how she met her husband and how it actually is such a funny story.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was the brother I never met or even knew about. Eventually his older brother told him about me and so we arranged a coffee date, it was one of the best evenings of my life. It was an evening filled with laughter, chats, dancing, ice-cream, green robots and the movie Vir Altyd<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

From then she knew JT was the one for her: \u201cFor the person he is and the person I am around him. He has so many characteristics that I absolutely love and always wanted in a man.\u00a0I look up to him and admire him for what and who he is.\u201d<\/p>\n

The movie they watched on their first date Vir Altyd<\/em> got more meaning in their relationship since that is technically where their \u201cVir Altyd<\/em>\u201d started and even became their wedding hashtag: #FourieVirAltyd<\/p>\n

Our wedding day was the BEST day of my entire life. It was so special. We had a BOHO theme with pampas and earthy colours. We were blessed with lots of rain, if I must mention a few highlights, it was definitely the moment I saw my husband in the church, the opening dance, JT\u2019s speech, and JT and I did a Theuns Jordaan song \u2018By Jou<\/em>\u2019 at the reception where he played the guitar and I sang.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her idea of a romantic holiday is a place in a private reserve with no signal, beautiful views, a wood-fired hot tub, and an outdoor shower area with a wildlife view.<\/p>\n
