Many young people feel isolated or misunderstood when struggling and may not know how to express themselves. Create a safe, non-judgemental space for them to share their feelings. Simple questions like \u201cHow are you feeling?\u201d or \u201cIs anything on your mind?\u201d can spark meaningful discussions. Validate their emotions and reassure them that it\u2019s okay to feel upset or anxious.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Promote Healthy Routines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Structure and routine provide a sense of security, especially during overwhelming times. Encourage habits like regular exercise, a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and a consistent schedule to build emotional resilience. Incorporating relaxation and hobbies into their day can also help children unwind and feel more in control, reducing stress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monitor Social Media Use<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Social media can negatively impact mental health through cyberbullying, comparison, and anxiety. Support them in recognising triggers and developing healthy coping strategies, such as deep breathing or talking to a trusted adult.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Model Positive Mental Health Habits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children learn by observing adults. Demonstrate self-care, acknowledge your emotions, seek support when needed, and practise stress-relief techniques like meditation or yoga.
