After attending more weddings than most people can count, Wedding DJ Margaret Whitfield has developed a sharp eye \u2013 and an even sharper palate \u2013 for what really stands out at a reception. And there\u2019s one dish that always gets her stamp of approval: the humble-yet-heavenly pampeontert.<\/em><\/h3>\n

\u201cHow good your pampoentert tastes determines if your marriage will last,\u201d Margaret jokes. We caught up with her to find out why this golden-baked beauty is her top-pick \u2013 and visited Olive Chef School, where this beloved dish is made to absolute perfection.<\/p>\n

Student chef Tumelo Duke Moledi took us through a simple step-by-step recipe that even the least experienced cook can pull off at home. Whether served as a savoury side or a showstopper dessert with a dollop of whipped cream, this tert<\/em> proves that sometimes, the simplest ingredients create the most unforgettable moments.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how you can make it…<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll need:<\/strong><\/p>\n

420g pumpkin, steamed<\/p>\n

100g sugar<\/p>\n

A pinch of mixed spice<\/p>\n

1 t baking powder<\/p>\n

4 eggs<\/p>\n

60g cake flour<\/p>\n

1 cup cream<\/p>\n

125g salted butter<\/p>\n

Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 \u00b0C.<\/li>\n
  2. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend well.<\/li>\n
  3. Pour into a greased, round 18cm ovenproof dish and dust lightly with mixed spice. Bake for 25 – 30 min, or until firm and golden brown.<\/li>\n
  4. Rest for 20 min before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
