Whether it was a Tuesday afternoon or a quiet Saturday morning, the sound of mixing bowls clinking and the scent of vanilla and butter were common in our household. For them, baking wasn\u2019t another task but it was a form of connection, their love language.<\/p>\n<p>I still remember coming home from school to the warm smell of freshly baked biscuits. The kitchen would be in a beautiful state of chaos that had flour on the counters, sticky bits of dough clinging to spoons, egg shells tucked into bowls, and the air filled with laughter and conversation. It wasn\u2019t just a mess, but one that loudly conveyed joy and togetherness.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, I joined in too. I\u2019d start with simple tasks like cutting out shapes or sprinkling sugar and slowly graduated to mixing and measuring. With every batch of biscuits, I gained a little more skill, but more importantly, I felt a deeper connection to the women who had shaped my life.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever I visit home, I find myself smiling at the memory of a kitchen filled with warmth, both literally and emotionally.
