Kefuoe Mophethe is the owner of Kay Nail and Beauty Bar in Bloemfontein. She employs over 15 women and has built a business known for its professionalism, discipline and community impact after starting in a small room in her home.<\/h3>\n

\u201cSuccess now feels like peace, purpose, and giving back.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Kefuoe Mophethe has been running Kay Nail and Beauty Bar for more than 15 years. What began as a small home salon has grown into a successful beauty business with a full team and loyal client base.<\/p>\n

She says being recognised in the local business space is not just about personal achievement. \u201cIt recognises the work not just from my side but also from the women I\u2019ve worked with and mentored over the years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Starting small taught her the importance of consistency. \u201cI would tell my younger self not to chase perfection but to stay consistent. This business started in my home with just my hands and a dream. I would remind her that consistency will take her further than perfection ever could and to always lead with heart, not fear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kefuoe says beauty businesses often require more than technical skills. \u201cMany think it\u2019s all glitz and glamour, but being in the beauty industry requires deep emotional labour, strategy, and sacrifice,\u201d she says. \u201cAs women, we\u2019re often expected to carry the emotional load for others while still building a profitable, innovative brand and that balance isn\u2019t easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite challenges, she says her family and faith keep her grounded. \u201cI\u2019ve been inspired by many strong, resilient women around me. From clients, mentors, and family members who\u2019ve built their lives with grace despite challenges. Their stories remind me that strength doesn\u2019t always roar; sometimes it\u2019s quiet, consistent, and grounded in purpose. These women have shaped how I lead and how I serve others in my journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kay Nail and Beauty Bar is known for creating a calm and welcoming environment, something Kefuoe takes immense pride in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t just offer beauty services. It\u2019s a space built on care and connection. We pour into our clients emotionally and spiritually. Many clients come for nails but leave feeling seen, heard, and uplifted. That emotional experience is what sets us apart,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

To maintain balance in her life, Kefuoe sets boundaries. \u201cTime with God, rest, and family are sacred to me. I\u2019ve learned that I can\u2019t give from an empty cup. I prioritise quiet moments, self-care, and regularly unplugging from work to reconnect with myself as a woman and mother, not just a business owner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her values \u2013 discipline, humility and service \u2013 are built into the daily operations of her business. \u201cI start each day with prayer and gratitude. I believe in treating people well, whether it\u2019s a team member or a client. These values have created loyalty, trust, and a solid foundation that has carried my business for over 15 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today, her view of success looks very different from when she started. \u201cIn the beginning, success looked like a busy schedule and growing income. Today, it\u2019s about impact. How many lives I\u2019ve touched and how much my team has grown. Success now feels like peace, purpose, and giving back.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recently shaved her head in honour of people close to her who have battled cancer. A gesture that reflects how personal and community life remain at the centre of her work.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be remembered as someone who led with love, uplifted others, and wasn\u2019t afraid to be vulnerable in her strength. My hope is to leave behind a legacy of courage, kindness, and community.\u201d<\/p>\n
