\u201cAs we celebrate Women\u2019s Month, I reflect on my journey as a nurse, a leader, and a woman determined to make a difference. My nursing journey began in 2007 in Bloemfontein, where I trained at the Free State School of Nursing. I entered this profession with a heart full of passion and a deep desire to help others.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the years, my career has taken me down many meaningful paths. One of my proudest achievements was opening a small medical sub-acute facility in the Northern Cape \u2013 a project driven by a dream to bring much-needed healthcare services to underserved communities. I also started community projects and fundraising initiatives, providing support, care, and comfort to the elderly.<\/p>\n
\u201cDriven by my passion for accessible healthcare, I opened my own private practice, providing medical care, chronic medications, and support to disadvantaged communities in remote areas. Today, I stand as the Nursing Manager at Emoyamed Hospital, proudly leading with both heart and vision. My role is more than a job \u2013 it\u2019s a calling. I empower others to thrive through mentoring, quality improvement projects, and patient-centred care models.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing a woman in healthcare leadership comes with unique challenges, but also opportunities. My message to female nurses is clear: \u2018Your empathy is your power. Your resilience is your foundation. You are more than capable of leading with confidence.\u2019 I\u2019m passionate about mentoring and uplifting women nurses \u2013 helping them believe in their capabilities and step boldly into leadership roles.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy vision for Emoyamed Hospital\u2019s nursing department is to cultivate a culture of excellence, where every nurse feels empowered, and every patient receives compassionate care. To every woman, I say: \u201cYou are powerful beyond measure. Your compassion changes lives. Your strength carries communities. Never doubt your worth. Never stop growing. And never forget \u2013 you are a leader, simply because you care.\u201d<\/p>\n
