But what no one really prepares you for is the invisible mental and emotional load that comes with motherhood.<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s the endless to-do lists, the constant decision-making, the invisible work that never ends \u2013 even when your body is still healing and your mind is foggy from sleepless nights.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s only when you\u2019re deep in it \u2013 juggling feeds, nap schedules, work, relationships, and the pressure of \u201cgetting it right all the time\u201d \u2013 that the weight of it truly begins to show. You start to feel exhausted, emotionally flat, and overwhelmed, even when everything might seem fine from the outside.<\/p>\n<p>Having had my daughter in 2024, I know these pressures all too well. The best way I can describe the feeling is like having a thousand tabs open in your brain and being terrified to close even just one \u2013 because what if you forget something important?<\/p>\n<p>Mom burnout is real.<br \/>\nAnd the worst part? It often builds so quietly that you don\u2019t even realise it\u2019s happening \u2013 until you\u2019re too far gone. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important to recognise the signs and take small steps toward recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few things that helped me. I hope that by sharing them, I can help another mom who might be feeling the same:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stop apologising for being human. You\u2019re allowed to have limits \u2013 and you don\u2019t need to justify them.<\/li>\n<li>Make time for rest \u2013 not just sleep. Go to bed when your body tells you to. The laundry and dishes can wait.<\/li>\n<li>Lean on your mom friends. Especially the ones who\u2019ve been through it. Make time to see them, and give yourself permission to not \u201cparent\u201d for a little while.<\/li>\n<li>Move your body. Even a short walk or some gentle stretching helps more than you think.<\/li>\n<li>Know your risk factors. Pay attention to what triggers your stress. Try journaling to process how you&#8217;re feeling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most importantly, always remember: you are the perfect mom for your little one.<br \/>\nComparison steals joy. Your child doesn\u2019t need a supermom. They just need <em>you<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Your children want a mom who is happy and rested \u2013 not one running on autopilot or juggling a million things.
