We\u2019re huge fans of Zandvliet Shiraz … this wine estate was one of the first in the country to bottle the noble cultivar. But Shiraz is not the only variety that thrives on the farm, which is just 130km away from the \u00a0southernmost point of Africa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The award winning wines remain consistently recognised for their timeless elegance, style and quality \u2026 and are well worth exploring. Who knows \u2026 you may just find your new favourite.<\/p>\n

The one we know and love is Zandvliet Shiraz 2017<\/strong> -with aromas of plums, blackcurrants and pepper with hints of mixed spice, you\u2019ll taste hints of dark chocolate. It sells for around R120 a bottle. Now we\u2019re trying \u2026 \u00a0Zandvliet Chardonnay 2019<\/strong> a lovely wine with aromas of lime, nectarine, passion fruit and peach with hints of butterscotch. Around R120 a bottle.<\/p>\n

For ros\u00e9 lovers, the\u00a0<\/strong>Zandvliet Shiraz Ros<\/strong>\u00e9<\/strong> 2020<\/strong> has a distinct bouquet of rose petals, melon,\u00a0strawberries and raspberries coulis. It\u2019s refreshingly vibrant, with flavours of red fruit while the finish has a delightful floral undertone. The wine sells for around R85\/bottle.<\/p>\n

Expect intense flavours of muscat, orange peel and rose petals with a hint of spice in the \u00a0Zandvliet Muscat 2018. <\/strong>This low alcohol (7.17%) wine costs around R85 a bottle.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/strong> Kalkveld Shiraz 2016<\/strong> is a delicately layered wine \u2026 all \u00a0plums, prunes and violets with a touch of spice, with a long, velvet finish. About R240 a bottle.<\/p>\n

Too, too delish \u2026 with delicate flavours of wood spice, plums, cigar box and chocolate, the Hill of Enon Shiraz 2018<\/strong> is a complete treat. A special occasion wine, it costs around R445.<\/p>\n
