Antique Fair

If you’re an avid fan of the BBC Road Show, or the American Pawn Stars programme, you’ll know how trendy collecting antiques has become. Antiques, collectables and decorative arts appeal not only to the wealthy who appreciate the finer things in life and collect antiques as an investment but to the younger generation, too, who are discovering the new collectables … think art deco ornaments and African art and 50’s vintage clothing.  If you’re in Joburg this Sunday, February 2, you’ll find loads of choice at the Antiques and Collectables Fair. Rare piece of silver, an unusual corkscrew, an antique map or rare book, a piece of Art Deco costume jewellery … it’s a fabulous opportunity to pick up an unusual (and guaranteed to be much appreciated) Valentine gift. The fair takes place between 10am and 4pm on the upper and lower levals of the Nelson Mandela Square on the first Sunday of each month.
