Home made dog treats

Put aside the bananas. Since we’re baking, we may as well make something yummy for the dogs, too.

Peanut butter biscuits

You’ll need:

1 cup cooked pumpkin puree; 1/4 cup peanut butter (choose one with no added sugar or salt); 2 eggs; 3 cups whole wheat flour.

Method:

Preheat oven to 180°C. Beat the pumpkin puree, peanut butter and eggs well until mixed – around 2 minutes. Slowly add in the flour, a little at a time, mixing gently until just combined. Knead the dough a little, then roll out to about 2cm thick. Cut into squares (or shapes, if you prefer) and put onto a tray lined with baking paper. Bake for around 20 to 25 minutes, or until cooked and the edges are golden. Cool before storing in an airtight container.
