DFF New Face Model search for 2020 has begun!

The iconic Durban Fashion Fair (DFF), brought to you by the eThekwini Municipality, will be hosting an open model casting on Friday, 6 March and Saturday, 7 March 2020.

Now in its 9th year, the DFF is a fashion extravaganza boasting an array of international, national and emerging designers showcasing their creations on the catwalk. It is certainly the much anticipated highlight of Durban’s annual fashion calendar.

Not only has the eThekwini Municipality firmly backed the designers, but the City has also created another platform for those wishing to become part of the fashion industry. Through the DFF, it is able to provide new faces/potential models with an opportunity to break into the modelling industry.

Thus, the Municipality will be hosting Open Model Scouting days for men and women who have not yet signed up with a model agency to model at the DFF
2020 later this year!

No experience is required to be part of this exciting audition. All selected individuals will be trained professionally to walk on a runway. This will form part of the two month long boot camp for new talents during the lead up to the annual DFF. This takes place in September during the annual Durban Business Fair.

All aspirant / new face models must be in good physical shape and must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years. Applicants must have a valid ID document and a proof of residence and bring these along to the casting:

.Ladies must have a minimum height without heels of 1.75 metres with a hip measurement of between 90-92 cm. Ladies must wear minimal makeup, body fitting clothing (no jeans) and bring heels.

.The same requirement regarding height and makeup is applicable to fuller figure ladies. However, your pant size measurement must be between 38 and 44 cm.

.Gentlemen must be no less than 1.83 metres tall and fit into a size 30-32 trouser. They must wear a form fitted t-shirt/shirt and closed shoes (no trainers/takkies).

The casting will take place at the Durban Botanical Gardens Conference Room, situated at 9A John Zikhali Road, Musgrave. It will start at 09h00 sharp for registration and finish promptly at 15h00 on both days.
