Share your ‘Stilled Life’ lockdown story

How has COVID-19 changed your life? Well, you have the opportunity to show it in photographs …

Turbine Art Fair (NPO) launched a community photographic platform called ‘Stilled Life’ where you can share your COVID-19 experiences. This platform is open to anyone to share their view and a captured moment of what they are seeing and feeling during this abnormal time.

‘This pandemic has affected each and every one of us but in very different ways, and through this competition we can give South Africans a platform to share their stories and experiences, and at the same time contribute to the Artists Relief Fund. At times like this, art really does matter,’ says Glynis Hyslop, founder of the Turbine Art Fair.

You can submit your photographs under one of the following three categories:

#YourStory: Personal experiences of life in the times of COVID-19.

#NewNormal: A nod to the humanity’s ability to adapt, adjust and accommodate.

#Helping Hands: Stories of the generosity of spirit and humanity despite challenging times.

The top 100 photos will be selected by a judging panel made up of Greg Maloka, Musa Nxumalo, Savannah Feeke-Fortune and Greg Marinovich and exhibited online at the Turbine Art Fair, which will take on the form of a virtual fair later this year. The selected photos will then go on to be auctioned by Strauss & Co, with all proceeds going to the BASA Artists Relief Fund.

Entries close at midnight on 19 July 2020. To submit your photograph, visit zealous.co/turbineartfair.
