The South African Rugby Legends Association (SARLA) has been active around South Africa throughout lockdown, enlisting the help of major rugby unions and former players, coaches and administrators, who have shopped and packed food parcels for charity, in aid of the #RugbyUnites initiative. Starting on 25 July, #RugbyUnites launches a webinar series that will provide an opportunity for the public to interact with their favourite Rugby Legends.

The webinar series will be hosted by SARLA CEO, Stefan Terblanche. Episode 1 in the series, An Hour on the couch with Andy Marinos – CEO of SANZAAR, will feature discussions on the ever-present Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentinian rugby rivalry in the Rugby Championship and Super Rugby. Stefan and Andy will also discuss the many pressing questions surrounding the current state of the game across the globe; how COVID-19 has completely changed the landscape for Super Rugby and how the game might change in years to come. The webinar takes place on Saturday, 25 July at 10am CAT.

Ticketholders will have the added privilege of being able to ask questions via email, which will be answered by Stefan and Andy during their on-air discussion. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the #RugbyUnites initiative, which is mobilising to feed needy families throughout South Africa who have been affected by COVID-19.

Stefan Terblanche says, “We’re very excited to kick off our first episode with a chat to Andy, who has had an incredible career, both on and off the field. The discussion promises to be very insightful about rugby’s past, present and future. And this is a very unique opportunity for fans to ask the questions they would ordinarily never have a chance to ask. Best of all, it’s for a great cause.”

Virtual tickets are available at a cost of R 150. Alternatively, pay R 200 and get an entry into the Grand Prize Draw for a Springbok Opus Book. Register and buy your tickets online here. Ticketholders can email their questions for Stefan and Andy to
