Imagine having all you need right on your back without being weighed down.   Thule, the Swedish brand that provides an all-round solution for the outdoor enthusiast who jumps from one activity to the next, has just launched the new Thule Rail Collection for cyclists and mountain bikers.

The innovative Thule Rail hydration packs (8L12L and 12L Pro) have been designed specifically for the downhill and enduro rider. The secure-fit design wraps the torso and eliminates bounce or movement when jumping or railing corners for unsurpassed control, comfort and safety while descending rough trails.

The included 2.5L HydraPak reservoir features a locking valve to prevent leaks and you will be able to stay hydrated without slowing down, thanks to the hands-free ReTrakt magnetic hose return.   With a low centre of gravity, the pack allows for optimal weight distribution, resulting in improved bike handling and the reduction of muscle strain.

There’s also plenty of cargo storage to carry extra food, clothing and tools with minimal bulk in the main compartment.  Interior zippered pockets provide a safe place to store a phone, keys or other small accessories.

As modern bikes reach higher speeds and cover greater distances, greater demands are placed on all components, even apparel.  The Thule Rail 12L Pro is an intriguing option for mountain biking and features a removable Koroyd insert to provide central back and spine protection with a 12-liter storage capacity, so you can bring all the essentials for a long day in the saddle.

The local SA market has seen massive growth in the e-bike category, and for these riders the Thule Rail Backpack 18L is the ultimate mountain biking hydration backpack, complete with e-bike battery storage, a removable back protector and a 2.5L hydration reservoir.

For riders who don’t like a backpack, hip packs have become a popular alternative  and with the Thule Rail hip packs you can have all the comfort of hydration, food and repair stowage, without the inconvenience of heat soak zones and feeling ‘weighed’ down.

The collection offers three options, all with a host of design elements that blend Swedish design logic with the reality of mountain biking needs:

  • Taking top spot and the ultimate in hydration management is the Thule Rail 4L hip pack, a revolutionary solution that allows you to locate and replace the hydration hose without taking your eyes off the trail using the patented ReTrakt magnetic hose retention.  Total capacity is a very ample 4-litres, divided between 1.5-litres of hydration and 2.5-litres of small-item storage
  • The comfortable and versatileThule Rail 2L hip pack, with space for up to two water bottles in the side pockets, is ideal for longer rides (these pockets are also collapsable giving a streamlined fit for shorter rides when no water bottles are needed)
  • The smallest of the new hip packs is the Thule Rail 0L, that allows you to get the most out of quick rides with one handed phone access and a 500ml capacity and dedicated safe zone for phones or other essentials.

From bike racks to backpacks Thule is known for helping active people bring what they care for most, safely and effectively.  Simply choose the size that fits your needs, pack up and pedal… Thule has your back!
