If you haven’t already taken yourselves and your energy-riddled offspring to GibaLand, please do yourselves a favour and book a stay, even for just one night…

It’s off the grid but a complete breakaway from the mad rush of everyday life. The teepees that surround a central firepit, are cosy and spacious, offering the perfect respite from stress, and the opportunity to sleep under the stars surrounded by creatures of that night that will effortlessly sing you nature’s lullaby.

Several foot and bike tracks pave the way to a glorious, rushing waterfall in which you can cool off thanks to the crisp, refreshing mountain water.

When you’ve burnt off all that energy making your way back to the camp, you can enjoy afternoon sundowners, coffee, tea, milo, hot chocolate or the most decadent milkshakes knocked up by the brilliant cooks in the kitchen.

Dinner treats include stone oven-fired pizzas, pasta, hunger-busting bunny chows in homemade bread pots, and a choice of other mouthwatering options. Breakfast is equally tempting.

If you’re a fan of the drums and the didgeridoo, they’ve got a host of drums you can rent to join in on a drumming circle lead by a master on the drums, who will show you the ropes until the circle is synchronized with the sounds of something pretty incredible, and if it’s time to hit the pits and they’re still drumming away, it’s another awesome harmony to fall asleep to.

There’s a delightful shop with all kinds of precious stones, handcrafted jewellery and other local crafts, and more importantly the hosts are outstanding in their work ethic, showing you the ropes, a great time and that there is no end to peace in a place where locals live and work together to bring you an experience you will not easily forget. We will definitely be back!!!
