LG Electronics (LG) has partnered with five South African personalities and gamers to bring fans the ultimate party, gaming, and workout playlists on Spotify. If you’ve ever wondered which songs keep rugby captain Siya Kolisi motivated, now’s your chance to find out. Because the popular music app comes standard on the LG webOS, LG is also treating consumers with up to four months of Spotify Premium when they purchase an LG XBOOM Go PL2, PL4 or PL7, or LG TONE Free FN4, FN6 or FN7 wireless headsets from now until August 31, 2021.

The innovative electronics company recently celebrated the launch of their 2021 home entertainment line-up, showcasing cutting-edge developments in the TV and sound space – from AI-powered software upgrades to a whole new generation of OLED display technology: OLED Evo. But their ground-breaking displays aren’t the only products making heads turn; LG’s soundbars, TONE Free earbuds, and XBOOM Go Bluetooth speakers are also stealing the show.

The latest in wireless earbud technology

Studies have shown that earbuds can harbour more bacteria than a kitchen cutting board, but with LG’s TONE Free earbuds, you don’t have to worry about this. Unlike any other pair of headphones on the market, the TONE Free FN6 and FN7 are equipped with a UVnano charging cradle that kills 99% of bacteria in ten minutes while charging.

Made from non-toxic, hypoallergenic silicone, so you don’t have to worry about infection or inflammation, they’re comfortable too. The LG TONE Free FN7 ear gels have a new spiral design to maximise comfort, and the vortex ribs distribute pressure more evenly, allowing a perfect fit for any ear shape. With even better active noise cancellation, any external sounds are neutralised by three microphones in each earbud that monitor sounds coming from all directions.

Newly designed hardware makes the listening experience immersive, delivering fuller, richer bass through a stronger metal dome and a denser texture dampener that improves the quality of mid to high frequencies. The earbuds feature Merdian Audio technology that leverages digital signal processing to create realistic soundscapes that make it sound like you’re in the cinema, stadium, or concert hall.

With the LG TONE Free App, listening to music on these innovative wireless headsets is seamless, allowing you to effortlessly adjust the Meridian EQ to match your musical taste. You can also change the volume of your ambient surroundings, have your messages read to you without using your phone, and locate each individual earbud using Find My Earbuds. With seven hours of battery life in the earbuds and an extra 14 hours in the charging case, you won’t have to stop the music.

Perfect, portable sound

The XBOOM Go PL Series may look like simple portable speakers, but don’t let their size fool you. They also feature Merdian technology and have dual-action bass that produces beats powerful enough to start a party wherever you go. The end caps function as passive bass radiators and vibrate with the music. Along with the colourful LED lights that change to the rhythm of the beat, these water-resistant speakers are not only great to listen to but are also mesmerising to look at.

The battery lasts an impressive 24 hours on the PL7, and you can create unforgettable experiences by connecting up to 100 XBOOM Go speakers. Control them using your voice, the app, or link them to your LG TV for a complete surround-sound experience.

Stream these Spotify playlists

To celebrate this innovative sound technology, LG has asked five South African personalities to curate and share playlists on Spotify to bring the beats to fellow music lovers.

Siya Kolisi, the legendary Springbok rugby captain and LG ambassador, has put together his own must-hear playlist. With this playlist, Siya is letting us into some of the secrets behind his success, adding that “these are the songs that keep me motivated during a workout or focused before a big game.”

Jessica Nkosi, award winning South African actor and TV presenter, put together a playlist she describes as “a mix of what keeps me going when I exercise, especially while getting in my cardio. It’s inspired by some of my favourite South African artists, and it’s a total mood lifter, so it’s also perfect to play before going out with friends.”

South African gamer and YouTuber, Mister Flak’s playlist was also inspired by his love for gaming, and his love for all music genres and “the old stuff”. “Music is supposed to feed your mood and complement your gameplay experience,” he added. “Sometimes I want to relax; sometimes I want to rock out.”

Jannie Jordaan, gamer and Xbox ambassador, created a playlist that was curated by the XboxPlayersSA community, where each member chose one song that they believe is the ultimate gaming track. Jannie explained that “gaming is always better when you’re listening to a great track. With Spotify as a native application o‌n Xbox, you can play your game and listen to your Spotify playlist at the same time.”
