It’s been a 74-year long wait, but Brentford Football Club will finally make their return to the top flight of English football as they renew their rivalry with one of the biggest names in the Premier League, Arsenal.

The Bees, as they are affectionately known, get their Premier League campaign underway on the opening day of the season against their fellow London rivals who, strangely enough, knocked the final nail in the coffin when the two sides met on the final day of the season, 74 years ago.

Now, Brentford will embark on their new journey with leading South African sports betting operator, Hollywoodbets, as their front-of-shirt sponsor, and will hope to prove that the top flight will be more than just a tourist attraction for the Bees. However, if Brentford want to make their mark in the Premier League, they will need to hit the ground running.

During the Bees’ time in the English Championship, they managed to transform the Brentford Community Stadium into a fortress, losing just two of their 23 league matches played at home last season.

With football fans back in stadiums in England, Brentford will have even more motivation to play the brand of football they’ve shown to produce over the past couple of seasons. A possession based-style game, mixed with attacking flair, could see the Bees repeat their goal scoring prowess in the Premier League.

The sting in the Brentford attack has been star-striker, Ivan Toney, who goes into the new campaign off the back of a record-breaking season, banging in 31 goals, which saw the 25-year-old striker from Northampton surpass Glenn Murray’s record, set back in the 2012/13 season.
