In support of Tutor Appreciation week (4 to 8 October 2021), online tutoring platform, Teneo Tutors, celebrates the impactful role tutors play in building student confidence through a personalised focus on harnessing each student’s knowledge application and retention.

“Online tutoring allows students to connect one-on-one with an expert from wherever they are in the world, receive tailored support in a subject of their choice, at a level and pace that suits their learning needs,” says Teneo Tutors Marketing & Communications Manager, Sarah Ferguson.

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the way in which we teach and learn, with remote learning emerging as the number one educational technology trend. In line with this, the demand for online tutoring has sky-rocketed, with more and more students looking for access to quality online learning experiences.

“The Teneo Tutors platform allows accessible, live, one-to-one tutoring for grades four to twelve. We currently have over one hundred, hand-picked tutors across all subjects in both South African and British International curriculums. Sessions are 50 minutes long and are offered in English, Afrikaans and isiZulu,” explains Ferguson.

Online tutors allow students to work through additional content to ensure a solid foundation of knowledge, to fill in any knowledge gaps and stay on top of school work. In addition, students are able to extend knowledge beyond that which is taught in class, providing a sophisticated and rigorous understanding of relevant concepts.

“With Teacher Appreciation Day (5 October 2021) aptly falling during Tutor Appreciation week, this is an opportune time to celebrate all educators who inspire and equip students to grow to their fullest potential,” concludes Ferguson.
