KZN Youth Orchestra Mother’s Day concert in the gardens

The KZN Youth Orchestra will be performing in the Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre on Mothers’ day, Sunday May 8, at 11am and 1pm.

The orchestra comprises 65 young musicians from all around KZN province and the hour long concert will be an exciting one with music encompassing a variety of genres. There will be pieces from the Romantic period, from ballets, operas and movies and musicals and is excellent family entertainment.

Included in the programme are such pieces as , ‘The Capriccio Espangnole’ by Rimsky Korsakoff, music from Carmen, Music from ‘The greatest showman’ and some jazz and rock items including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and the ever popular ‘Sway’ to name a few.

Conducted by Lyk Temmingh and presented by Cathy Peacock the picnic concert will send you away with a tune in your hearts.

Treat your mums, enjoy Durban’s glorious weather, bring a picnic  and come and support the youngsters and be enthralled by their orchestral delights.
