The journey for our 10 KZN ladies began as a semi-finalist, on March 5 2022, where they were announced virtually on the Mrs. South Africa official Instagram page, along with the other beautiful, sophisticated and married women from all over South Africa, and attended a self-development workshop held at Emperors Palace, to prepare the class of 2022 for the road ahead.

Mrs. South Africa is a journey based on pillars of Self-Development, Community Work, Networking, and Business, and has gained the reputation of connecting like-minded women, and equipping them for success in all areas of their lives. At its core, this is a platform that celebrates authentic, relatable, and modern South African women. Mrs. South Africa recognises the value of marriage, and the essence of being a “Bonafide” woman.

The program was created for married women who would ordinarily not have such a platform to compete and be ambassadors for South Africa, on a global scale. The opportunities and platform that have been created for Mrs. South Africa entrants are significant in every way and it truly creates a ripple effect across our beautiful country. Throughout the journey, women discover themselves again, and learn that they are never too old to follow their dreams and become voices of change.

Meet our KZN Top 10 Semi-Finalists

My name is Lindie Mthethwa- Cebekhulu married to my lovely husband Smanga Cebekhulu. We are residing in Caversham Glen.

I am a clinician working for both public and private sector. I have been in beauty industry from my teenage age, due to too many commitments I decided to take a break. In 2020 I entered for SA weddings bride of the year, by God’s grace last year I was crowned SA weddings bride of the year 2020, currently I am the reigning queen for SA weddings bride of the year.

I like doing research, currently I am holding a master’s degree in Health Science. My special interest is with children living with disabilities, that led me to do my project where I am empowering women/care givers raising children living with disabilities, I am a voice to the voiceless.

Mrs South Africa is a journey based on pillars of self-development, community work, business, and networking. My project is based on community work and empowerment, I decided to enter Mrs. South Africa as I feel that platform that Mrs South Africa is giving me will work powerfully to empower women and introduce my foundation for children living with disabilities, I also believe that I will stretch to my limit and discover what am I capable of doing as a married woman. My name is Khumbu Madlala. I am a 43-year-old lady born in Durban but grew up in a small town North of Kwa-Zulu Natal called Eshowe. This is where my farming skills were acquired and sharpened. I am currently based in Durban Mount Edgecombe. I work in a cement factory, Engineering department, which is Male dominated, as an Administrator. I love people as my life affords me an opportunity to meet different people very often. I believe in the spirit of “Ubuntu” which is humanity and being considerate to other People’s feelings. I am very passionate about mentoring the youth in life skills especially one-on-one mentorship. My philosophy is: “strive to serve when you have been served “I am currently studying towards an LLB degree 3rd year and plan to be an advocate in 3 years’ time. I am married to Bonginkosi Madlala and we do not have children as yet.

My life has been filled with people who mentor me. Someone has been holding my hand throughout my decision making. I believe that sometimes you don’t have to go through the “trial and error” phase in life. There is always someone experienced who can take you through. My Husband and I are running a mentorship/substance abuse counselling office focused on the youth as he is also a councillor. With the Mrs. South Africa journey, I hope to gain a much bigger platform in order to reach out to South Africa. I also own a funeral parlour which from time to time assists people who cannot afford to bury their loved ones with dignity. You can find me on Instagram @khumbu_thementor

My name is Nuh Ngutshana Mnxati. I am an educator who is passionate about educating and growing young minds, especially girls. Not that I am only favouriting girls, but they continue being the most vulnerable ones compared to boys.

I joined Mrs South Africa to build my own professional confidence so that I can be able to establish my own NGO that would support my dream of building more independent, powerful, successful, confident, young women for a better future, especially the ones from disadvantaged backgrounds, like the ones I currently educate.

I have already met loving, beautiful but mostly smart women in this journey, of which I have already learned a lot from, and continue to learn from. Find me on Instagram @nuhngutshana

My name is Nadia Aboud. I recently completed my BA Heath Science and Social Services degree, majoring in Community and Health Psychology.
I also finished my fashion designing studies in 2014 and my Bio Sculpture nail qualification in 2011.

I have combined all of these skills that I acquired into a business called Darling Shine, that I established in January 2022.
A new addition to the business that is launching this month is Creating your own lipstick. This is an entertainment activity that I provide for birthday parties, kitchen teas or any other applicable occasion.

With regards to my recent degree that I completed, I am a registered counsellor and currently provide youth coaching to learners from disadvantaged schools, pro-bono.
I am aspiring to do my honours in 2023 and if all goes well, my Masters thereafter, as my long term plan is to be a psychologist, focusing on young children (includes play therapy).

Entering Mrs SA has always been on my long term goals list. I believe in what the program has to offer and should you ever have the opportunity to be part of this pageant, you should definitely grab it with both hands. The Mrs SA pageant does not only focus on beauty and supplying you with a platform to bring about change in the country, but it also provides you with the opportunity for maximum growth that interlinks with every aspect of your life.

It is a journey of positive change, for you, for your family, for the people around you, and for your career and aspirations. You don’t need to be a beauty queen in order to be involved with NPO’s and making an impact on people’s lives, but the power of the sash allows for the opportunity to do everything on an even larger scale. My name is Charity Buthelezi. I am 32 year old wife to Mr Buthelezi and mom to 3 beautiful children Themba14, Wandile9 and Liyana 9 months . I am mostly know as “Nonto” and I attended Seaview primary as well as Queensburgh girls high school Matric 2007. I furthered my studies and now I have a bachelor of education from the university of KZN Edgewood campus. Ive had the privilege to teach and do my practical training in schools around the queensburgh area. I was once fortunate to also teach in Taiwan as a ESL teacher .

Your smile is one of the things that make you beautiful for free forever. If you can dream it you can reach it
Now lets imagine a safe centre for the children of Durban a place were they can learn basic life skills like cooking and baking, washing ironing and cleaning, sewing, personal hygiene, mental health, university registration and other life skills a basic human needs to survive . Going to university and having friends that lived on school residents they lacked a lot of basic skills. This is a problem for both girls and boys in the society. These problems lead to a lot of bulling and the person ends up having a low self esteem and that alone can destroy a persons spirit to go on. Id like to use the Mrs South Africa platform to influence the next generation in a positive way . By being part of the solution and the change to issues like bulling and some of the problems the youth face today. A simple thing like assessing a child and placing them in the right school is not easy for our township societies to understand.

Some parents are going through a-lot and bouncing back from our history is a process.I believe if we work with the youth of today we can have a brighter future.  You can find me on Instagram: buthelezi.charity

(We are a close knit family) I also enjoy keeping fit and healthy, weight training, swimming, and running along our beautiful coastline.

I entered Mrs South Africa aiming to use this platform to be part of the solution for the changes that need to be made. Specifically for women and the next generation. As Mother Teresa would say “A life not lived for others is not a life”. I’ve always felt a calling to uplift those around me and I believe that we aren’t truly “influential” until we use our “influence” to positively impact the lives of others. In speaking for those who don’t have the platform to speak themselves, we can empower the next generation to pursue the lives that they deserve! You can find me on Instagram @eloisebriggeman

My name is Mandisa Zuma. I’m a mother to 2 cutest boys who drive me nuts but I love them to bits. I have a qualification in Public Management and I’m working as a Quality Field Auditor for a leading, reputable retail chain. I am passionate about life, love, and hard work. My motto: it’s not about winning but finishing what you’ve started.

I entered Mrs South Africa in order to put a mark – as well as show the world that as a woman nothing is impossible – no matter what your background is, you are destined for success. My family and I were recently victims of a drunk and driving which almost costed our lives. God had a reason for us being alive this very moment. When we trust in Him no forces can wipe you from earth. Which is why I’m still here, standing and enjoying my Mrs SA journey where there’s sisterhood, empowerment, resilience and most importantly LOVE….

After a career in marketing I started blogging and my Instagram platform has grown into a beautiful community of humans, with whom I share parts of my life, the things I love and challenges I face with. I am a full time Content Creator, this allows me the platform to not only share amazing brands and businesses with my community, but also help raise awareness and funds for causes and initiatives close to my heart. I did not make the decision to enter Mrs SA lightly, but it is something that has been on my heart to do for the longest time. I made a decision at the start of 2022 to make this my YES year, and to say yes to the things that I feel align with me and things I am called to and inspired by. Mrs SA was one of those things, and after encouragement from family, most especially my little-not-so-little brother, I decided it was time to put the fears I had aside and enter. My motivation comes from a deep certainty that I am meant to do something with this one life I have been given, to make it meaningful and have an impact on the world around me. I believe this journey will grow and challenge me in many ways, and I am so honoured to be on part of it with my fellow Top 100 beauties.

My ultimate goal is to grow in to the best version of myself through the many resources and challenges that the Mrs SA pageant lays out for us, and to remain the person that I am, but in my best version possible. It is also my hope that in taking part in this journey, I am able to be better equipped for whatever lies ahead for me in this life.
