Win a curry cooking class with Durban’s Curry Queen!

Durban’s Curry Queen, Shae Nair is not only passionate about food and its flavours, but she’s also a big believer in woman empowerment, believing it is the key to achieving extraordinary goals.

A primary school teacher who turned her hobby, into a ‘side-hustle’ spends her weekends and evenings teaching keen cooks how use spices and how to make authentic curries in a flash, and with loads of flavour to boot. She also believes that curry is best made simply.

“I started these lessons in 2019 at my home , using a small two-plate stove, utensils and ingredients from my kitchen , and a table.  The demand for my lessons grew very quickly, with people requesting evening lessons as well.  As time went on, there was a need for me to market basic spices at my lessons, so people leave with the full package with which to create their own curries at home.”

Think mouth-watering butter chicken, soft and delicious potatoes in a tender lamb curry, simple, delicious sweet and spicy butternut and chickpea curry with rotis, mushroom and pea curry and so much more.

With Women’s Month around the corner, Shae encourages other women to use resources that  they have to chase their dreams. “Especially if your dream happens to be something you really enjoy doing.”

You can follow Shae on Facebook and Instagram: The Curry Queen or contact her on 083 721 1851.

For those who would love the chance (just as much as we did) to be inspired by Shae in the kitchen, we’re giving away one curry cooking class voucher.
