A timeless piece of exquisite, handcrafted jewellery is not only the perfect gift for this time of year, but remains flawless and everlasting for generations to come.
Creating extraordinary and exquisite wearable works of art is what creative force Kim Dyason is known for. This fine jeweller, goldsmith, mentor and entrepreneur from Studio 39 Jewellery Design is the master of designing unique jewellery.
By working with her clients, she can transform gold and precious gems into astonishing pieces of jewellery, and includes the essence, emotions and thoughts of the person the piece is intended for. Each piece is unique and special to each person she crafts the piece for.
“I just love my job, playing with natural gemstones is my happy place, they will let me know what they want to become,” says Kim.
From a pendant to earrings to a ring or anything in between, the Studio 39 design team can remodel old jewellery into something exquisite or produce a beautiful piece using the client’s own stones. Clients get to be part of the design process, engaging directly with the goldsmith so that each piece of fine jewellery includes personal expression.
Kim concludes that Studio 39 Jewellery Design is not just a place to purchase fine jewellery, but is a haven of creativity and joy – a testament to her craftsmanship and mentorship.
Admiration for gold orchid
Kim Dyason’s enthusiasm for beautiful wearable works of art extends to her passion for nature. Indigenous plants and her love for South Africa provide inspiration for her to create unique pieces of jewellery.
Recently selected as one of KZN’s Top Business Women for 2023, she had everyone in awe over the beautiful gold orchid pendant that she specifically designed to wear for the Gala event.

Known to surround herself with orchids, you will always find fresh orchids displayed in Kim’s shop, this spectacular pendant was based on the indigenous orchid Aerangis mystacidii found right here in KZN.
Kim explains that she used some poetic license to make the orchid larger than life, with a few tweaks to make it wearable. The elaborate pendant is a prime example of what Kim and her goldsmiths from Studio 39 Jewellery Design can produce.
