Fundraising is important to the South African Bone Marrow Registry<\/strong> (SABMR) as it provides the income needed to register donors and find matches for those in need of a transplant, among other things. One of its major fundraisers is an annual golf day<\/strong>, which this year, takes place on Friday, September 13 at Mount Edgecombe Country Club. A fourball format will be played at the cost of R3600 a team and includes drinks on arrival, lunch, sponsored holes, a three-course dinner, auction and prize-giving to round off the day. Valuable sports memorabilia, holidays trips, lifestyle vouchers and hampers will be available to bid on. An online auction will launch a week prior to the event in the hope of raising more money for the cause that will go towards providing assistance to vulnerable patients in need, one of whom is four-year-old Shivya Gordhan who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in November last year. Themed Out of Africa, the event will be MC\u2019d by popular Kandasamy franchise actress Maeshni Naicker and features an inspiring talk by phlebotomy supervisor and survivor Charlene Naicker.\u00a0A mouth-watering spread of eats will be served, catering for a variety of taste buds and dietary needs, followed by treats from Chateau Gateaux.
