Glenwood Village turns festive with Santa and his elves, crafty snowflakes, a lively morning market, music, treats and tons of family fun. Come for the cheer, stay for the Christmas magic! This family-friendly celebration kicks off from 9am<\/p>\n
Enjoy a bumper Christmas activity day at Glenwood Village on Saturday, December 13, when Santa will be visiting with some of his elves, in a fun and festive pop-up Santa\u2019s Workshop on the upper level for the morning in front of the fabulous new mural.<\/p>\n
Santa and co will be available for photos, and offering a slew of children friendly activities including face painting, balloon twisting and colouring in.<\/p>\n
Alongside Santa\u2019s workshop Robin Opperman and Ujala Sewpersad will be hosting a craft workshop where participants can learn to make a super easy, but beautifully intricate handmade snowflake tree decoration. This is geared for older children and adults; and booking is required to participate. Phone Robin on 083\u00a0793 3408 to secure your spot. Cost is R100 which includes all necessary craft materials.<\/p>\n
There will be a morning market on the upper level \u2013 offering Glenwood entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their wares and skills \u2013 offering fine art, greeting cards, sweet treats, books and CDs, pre-loved clothing, treasures and collectables, beadwork, belts, soaps and d\u00e9cor items.<\/p>\n
There will be a pop-up coffee truck serving really good coffee, and home-baked goods for morning tea.<\/p>\n
Durban\u2019s own Ilza Oosthuizen will be playing a range of Christmas carols, festive songs and show tunes on the piano alongside the activity area.<\/p>\n
And in front of Village Hardware on the upper level, there will be a free colouring in station for children to make Christmas themed pictures for cards or as decorations.<\/p>\n
\u201cIncreasingly we understand the need to nurture a sense of neighbourhood in places where we gather,\u201d says Glenwood Village\u2019s Steve King, \u201cand what better occasion to celebrate our shared community, than the beginning of the festive season!\u201d<\/p>\n
Many of the shops will be offering festive specials and promotions. Entry is free and all are welcome. Glenwood Village doesn\u2019t charge for on-site parking, has guarded street parking and is easily accessible on public transport.<\/p>\n
