Prohibition Blue Gin … coming to a cocktail near you

It’s not just the blue we fancy, in the newly released Prohibition Blue Gin. It’s also the way that with certain mixers, it changes to pink. Magic gin! So if you’re in the mood for a pink drink, a dash of tonic water or lemon changes the PH balance, and the blue changes to a sparkling pink.

This Silver Creek Craft Distillery gin gets its striking blue colour from the flower of the Blue Pea (so it’s 100 per cent natural), and is infused with juniper as well as coriander, lemon, angelica, cinnamon and a dash of rose water.

Try it in your fave cocktail … or spruce it up with apples and thyme (delish!).

You can buy for R369 online at Takealot.com and in major bottlestores.

Oh … a little extra info … in traditional medicine, the Blue Pea flower – Clitoria Tetnatea – is said to have aphrodisiac and antioxidant powers, amongst other life-enhancing properties.
